Hello to all backyard chicken people around the world,
I live on a bush property in Australia and have just been given a young Bantam Rooster. Charlie was about to become someones Sunday roast and I stepped in to save him from the pot. Charlie hasn't any girlfriends yet but he has bonded with my dog. Charlie is very protective of my laborador and he sits on the frame of her bed when she is sleeping. Will Charlie redirect his attention to female feathered friends when they arrive and are there any problems with the two of them being friends? My lab loves all of our animals but I don't know if she can get any fowl diseases or germs from Charlie. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated by this novice 'backyard chicken person?' Thanks from Great Western
