During the summer only because of my bunnies they live with my chickens and ducks but if it were not for the bunnies I would not use one the hottest it gets here is in the low 90's it is only 18° right now and snowing During the summer they get straight ice in there water buckets and lots of frozen treats like watermelon, blueberries, cantaloupe they love itThank you very much! I planned on putting in a lot of open areas for the coop, but thank you for this info as I may put more in now too! It's cold out today and has been on and off. They've still been inside as we haven't finished the coop. But planning on it in the next few days! Do you use any fans in yours?

It gets way hotter here, so definitely thinking about a fan. We also have tons of humidity. I have mine up in the front top corner of my coop its been there for 5yrsI know a lot of folks who live in hot areas use misting systems for their birds. Also, if you go with a fan, be conscious of placement. Poultry dander is a killer for fan motors. I have lots of dead fans, because I've never been able to figure out a good placement for them.
Thank you for the info! I was actually looking at a poultry/industrial fan if we put one in....so that it is safe! I stumbled upon a fan post and someone pointed out that the dust would do damage to it...so I wanted to make sure all was safe! Also someone else pointed out lots of openings since it's mostly hot here! I really love all the great information here! And the ability to search so I don't ask a million questions that have already been askedI know a lot of folks who live in hot areas use misting systems for their birds.
