Completely random question for the ladies on here...

I was in high school (not the same grade, though) as a girl whose last name was Titsworth... can you imagine the agony she went through on a regular basis?

I remarried at 40...kept my own name. My dh and I took some company guys from the China plant out to dinner one evening. They told me that women keep their family names upon marriage. I like that. If you've ever tried to do a geneology search on females, you know its VERY difficult because of name changes.

Reminds me of the BBC show Keeping up appearances. Their last name is Bucket and she always correts everyone and pronounces it Bouquet. So maybe it is pronounced differently but for kids school would be a nightmare.

I changed names to my current husband's name, it's common enough and easy to spell. However my first 2 marriages I kept my own last name, as thiers were equally difficult to spell.

Actually, DH's last name that I took upon marriage isn't too far from Booger. It's German with that unlovely Teutonic OO ending with -ER. I went from a very long Polish last name to an unlovely German one. If I REALLY wanted to curse my daughter, I'd have her name hyphenated!

My husband's last name (which I took) ends in cox. The story goes that it used to end in cock, but his great-great grandmother thought it was obscene, so she made her husband change it. All her descendents are a bit nuts, which is why I married into the family.

i wouldnt end up marring a guy named Booger... i think revenge of the nerds.... lol. seriously i wouldve probly offended him in the first 5 min of meeting him. ... unintentionally of coarse, I think i 'm Really Funny, however i have found most ppl dont agree with me on that!

I think it would be worse to be a girl with the last name Hoar or Hogg, like Ima Hogg in Texas.

Maybe they can do like Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Boo-kay) and pronounce it Boo-Zhare.
