us linux users werent affected.
it is the best antidote to any windows borne malware or code exploits which is the majority, though this dns changer program was supposedly programmed for OSX as well.
almost all linux operating systems are free and do everything windows does with alternative and far better open source programs, and there are a number of total beginner friendly distros like mint, ubuntu, mandriva, porteus and pearOS [which looks just like OSX].
for information on almost all distros-as well as the download links-go to: http://distrowatch.com/
burn it to a disc, and go to BIOS to change the boot sequence.
alternatively, theres an even easier and better way if have got a usb stick, download this:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/
its an awesome completely free prog for sticking as many linux distros as wanted on the usb stick without any technical knowledge required; it does all the partitioning and it also downloads the .ISOs required for distros as well unless have already got them in which case it will add them.
leave stick in,go into BIOS and put the USB stick at the top of the list in the boot sequence so that it reads the usb stick first.
not all computers will boot from USB though, but most modern ones do.
ssorry for the preaching but woud honestly recommend it now days as windows is a victim of its own success, its extremely exploitable,OSX is naturaly getting worse for exploiting to.
