I'm looking at a Data Traveler 2 GB USB Drive. What I want to know is am I correct in their usage? They are for storing info and using it between computers correct? Sort of like a disk but, more storage and smaller package, right?

Yup!

They've really come in handy for us lately. I was without my computer for awhile when my monitor died. I used my SO's computer until we got me a new one. When it was time for me to start using mine again we just took everything I had stored on his (mostly chicken stuff, I'll admit it) put it on the USB drive and plugged it into mine.
He also bought his daughter one. When she takes alot of pics of the GS she stores them on the USB drive until she sees us again. We empty all the pics onto our computers and return the USB to her.

I've been saving points in the PepsiStuff bit at amazon and can get a 2 GB for 75 points. I thought it would be a good thing to get. Now that I know they are what I was thinking they are I will get one.

Oh my... I have 5 different ones that I keep separate info on to share with others.

I am President of our local Kiwanis club. It is so nice to be able to handoff an entire drive of files to another officer or board member for them to access what they need rather than having to email attachments back and forth. It is almost like a mobile back-up.

I love my 8 Gig thumb drive as it allows me to back up all of my info at the office... just my data files alone are 4GIG.

Sounds like the 2GB will be just the beginning for me. Although right now we only have one computer and do limited file sharing with others so it maybe okay for awhile. I'm sure it won't be long and Kute Kitten will be needing one for school.

I have a desktop external drive for my 21 gigs of working files, but I am thinking of getting a tiny USB drive so DH can carry stuff to work for printing.
