Concerned..Muscovy ducks on Mirror lake on OSU campus

My computer won't open sugg. site spifflove so maybe someone else can tell me content. And if someone here locally can give some knowledgable Muscovy sugg. it might help.

From what I read they are bred domestically/sold in the northern states with freezing winters and don't have the same food requirements as the wild Muscovy. It is becoming along the lines of people thinking feral cats don't need help(which is untrue) and am finding alot of people here also think they need left alone but these are domestic bred and if being kept in this public pond they need domestic food thru cold weather to survive comfortably(not being able to fly away doesn't help them)..I have a call in to OSU presidents office to get permission (spoke to actual human)and have called ohio wildlife division and they agree these ducks need removed. The pond they are in is small/filthy because of so many ducks living there and given each duck poops out 1/3 lb a day it can be a problem for people/ducks. They need more than the junk food they are getting and can't fly away to try to find proper food so I am going to persist. I don't mind if their numbers were controlled(the domestic Muscovys) and they were fed correctly thru winter but I know from experience with this pond the domestic ducks don't last too long. I worked at OSU for 30 yrs. and watched the domestic ducks suffer for the whole 30 yrs and am saddened by the ignorance that is causing the domestic ducks to suffer painfully/suffer early deaths. Son just called me and said there is a puffy headed Pekin(Crested???) walking around that he has never seen on his daily venture to Mirror lake. ONCE AGAIN these are domestic and need winter care to survive comfortably. Mt goodness-the stress increases. My son has asked if he should turn his head and not pay attention/tell me and I refuse to do that for more decades of ouchy/dead ducks.(and I at LEAST want the Pekins removed if NOT the possibly OK Muscovies-one with injured wing possibly removed)
I think it's wonderful you want to help these ducks, some on here will be critical, but most will stand behind you and your son. It's sad and makes me very angry when people dump domesticated ducks out in ponds/rivers and think they can make it especially through a hard cold winter with out protection and the right feed. I adopted my first 3 Muscovy drakes because they were left at the river.

TY Miss Lydia and I am familiar with human distaste at my "help" but unfortunately I am a 'follower" and get kicked in the butt too easily and am trying to get tons of info into my head quickly so I DON'T quote misinformation when trying to "help" the Muscovy on this "lake"(I probably give people the impression I am trying to remove domestic/wild ducks from a 100 acre lake and its probably really 1/2 acre sludgepit in reality-havent been there since they drained/cleaned it) Like I said-my son called an hour or so ago to say he sees a fluffy headed pekin and I KNOW for a fact the pekins need help. Just getting disagreemebts on Muscovy. I am less informed on their domestication status. Hurry up and wait stuff drives me crazy becuz I am retired and altho I have things here(have ton of fowl of course) I can do I put these dumped ducks at the top and want to git er done. am going out to clean chick shed now so thANKS AGAIN.
