Thanks so much for that!!! Thank goodness for nice ones like you, and thanks for the warm welcome. I guess New egg is my being a newbie to the site?

Yup! you'll go to "just hatched" before you know it.

I wouldn't worry about this chick too much just yet. Watch her closely and see if she behaves differently. It could just be a difference in how her breed's body is shaped.

And Welcome to BYC! This is a fun board with lots & lots & lots of very nice people.

My chick is definately slowing down a bit, she's not walking a lot, more wobbling, staying low to bedding to move around but is eating and drinking, I definately sense this is uncomfortable and weighing her down a bit. I finally got the pic

She's a cute chick. About 2 weeks old?

OK, so I can see what you mean about her lower abdomen jutting out. I have no idea what could be the problem. I wonder if chicks can get ascitis?

I recommend that you ammend the title of this thread "updated pic pg2 still need help" so that people don't skip past this thread thinking it's been adequately addressed.

I too have a question like this.I have ISB brown chicks about 3 days old and 1 has a lump on her belly. Its round and hard.I had to wipe off a little hard poo from her butt and saw this.I will watch her for pasteing but I dont know what the bump means.I can try to take a pic of it tomorrow.
