I need some help please. I have been looking at other posts regarding bruising and scabbing on my chickens' combs and around their faces (pictures attached) They free range on 1 1/2 acres fenced during the day and in their coop at night. No other animals except our own dogs have access to our property. Is this from being pecked on by other chickens? I have 14 hens and 1 bantam rooster, not all of my chickens have this on them. We have had them for just over a year, raised them from chicks. They came vaccenated from a reputable breeder. I really do not know what to do? Please help, Thank you!

If those were my chickens, if there are no other signs of anything else... I'd not worry about it. Sometimes my birds will get their heads into places they shouldn't... like through fences and get their heads all banged up. They can get scabby heads from fighting from each other too. I'd only look further into something to "do" about the "problem" if ALL the chickens including the rooster had the scabby faces and something else was off.

I have one chicken with these scabs. All the others are fine. So the conclusion was that the others are probably picking on her?
