Me too!! I want some silkies like you have, but the husband wants to wait until spring :( it's just so hard to wait!! I would love a Phoenix but they can be so pricey, ah one day! Lol!! Maybe I can talk my husbands friend who breeds Phoenix's to give me one on a friend discount? I can only dream lol!!!

My coop is not even finished yet and I want to tear it down and build a bigger one. But we won't be doing that. I'm in California so we are still having summer weather. Hopefully we will finish the coop in a few weeks.

I too have Obsessive Chicken Disorder. I currently only have 17 hens but plan to at least triple that by next spring when the hubby constructs a bigger run and coop on the one acre lot next door, that we bought primarily for my critters.

I even take my hens with me on trips to our cabin in Colorado about every other month -except snow season. My hubby transformed an old tool trailer into a mobile chicken coop so the girls go to bed in Arizona in the mobile coop and the next day they are released in our yard in Colorado. They have all the comforts of home in this coop so they have very little stress from traveling. They've been doing this so long I think they are not stressed at all nowadays. They really enjoy vacationing in CO and hunting all the new bugs that moved in since their previous visit.

My daughters joke that I'm so obsessed with chickens that if they ever wanted to have me committed it would be an easy task to accomplish, lol.

Sounds like you need a coop-addition, lol. I've added smaller coops in my run to accommodate additional birds, but they all crowd into the one big one.

That is too cool! I have ducks also and have wanted to take them places with me but never have tried it. The ducks are getting rehomed though. They were supposed to be picked up today but my husband's friend from work forgot to get our address and they didn't exchange phone numbers :/ so it will have to wait until Monday.

The coop my husband built is actually more of a run built onto the side of our tool shed. This weekend he will be starting to build the coop into the side of the shed. He will put perches and nesting boxes in the shed and wall off that portion so the birds cant get into the tool area. It still won't be as big as I want it. But we can't change the size due to a tree being next to it. My kids have a two story jungle gym with playhouse on the bottom and a lookout point up top with a slide. I've been dreaming of converting that into a coop when they stop playing in it. My husband thinks it's a crazy idea but I think it would make an amazing two story coop!
