Ok. I am reading all these posts about Esthers & Gertrudes other various names and I'm feeling a little red in the face. I have EE's and SLW's and I admit, 5 of my EE"s are named (Rosie, Rosie - both named by my kids,- Annie, Carol and Partridge) but none of my SLW's are named because, I really can't tell them apart at this point.

So, I have nameless birds! How do you do it?

I'm pretty new to chickens too and I'd like to know the answer to that one myself. Some of mine I can tell apart, but some I can't. Thought it was just me! Will it get easier? I don't plan to make them pets, but would like to be able to handle them and tell them apart at least.

Only my bantams are named, and only Fancy Pants, Danno (named after my ornery child), Tom THumb and Thumbelina. I dont feel much attachment toward the other cochin, it has little personality and hasnt earned a title yet...

I've done that more than once! We have so many animals and I go out to see them and call someone a random name. My daughter says "I thought her name was ___ yesterday!" Sometimes the names stick, sometimes they don't.
