Cream legbar roosters carry 2 copies of the barred gene , hens only one (autosexing breed) Your hen lacks the plumage of a pure crested cream legbar hen and if bred to a pure crested cream legbar rooster the chicks won't be pure.The hens are darker than the males and have more grey (one barred gene

Sooo interesting! Yes, she is from a rainbow pack - Meyer Hatchery. I didn’t think they used mixed in the packs, but if they’re calling her an EE, then that makes sense!

I raise 4 autosexing breeds in my flock so sexing chicks will be easier. (Dominiques,barred rock,welsummers and cream legbars) I would love to have more of the autosexing breeds!

I’ve only ever had Legbar mixes, unfortunately. I really want to get purebred Legbars! I hope I can get some in the spring.

I’ve had pure bred from meyer hatchery as well. Cute and sweet birds. I think they ship.
