Confused about Golden Comets

:frow Hi and welcome! It’s so nice to have you here! A friend of mine has golden comets. This bunch is extremely friendly and very productive. They are brown with white tail feathers and some flecks of white throughout. Darling as chicks but as adults meh...
Any of the sex linked breeds designed for high production would probably suit your needs if you want tons of eggs. Read up on the characteristics that are important to you. I’ve heard they burn out after the second season but my friend’s flock is still doing well and they are 3 years old now. Out of the eight chicks she still has 6. One of those had a reproductive problem and the other was taken by a predator after being accidentally left out of the coop (she thinks) at lockup.
Whatever you choose, build them a secure coop and the biggest secure run you can possibly build and you and your chickens will enjoy life!
Thank you! :) Do you know where your friend got her Golden Comets?

Cackle Hatchery sells the Golden Comet and this is pulled from their website:
The parent stock is made from a proprietary Cackle Hatchery® bloodline/strain of the Cherry Egger male and the Rhode Island White female.
Yes, that's why I'm confused. Everything I've read about Golden Comets says that they are a mix of New Hampshire Roos with White Rock hens. So my question would be, how could they call it a Golden Comet? Wouldn't they call it something else?

Welcome to BYC! Have a great time as a part of our AWESOME community!
Golden Comets are good production birds, but be warned: If you want a chicken that doesn't die young, maybe get a non-hybrid breed, because production hybrids often succumb to reproductive issues before the age of 4.
If you don't care about that, that is fine. Just give them a happy home!
I am not sure how you will find but you want, but I am pretty sure the Cherry Egger x RIR would be fine. They are not much different.
