If it is a blue birchen marans, you got lucky. Let's say hypothetically that Meyer sourced marans eggs from Greenfire Farms, and they accidentally mixed in some bbm eggs with other marans eggs. It would be like winning a lottery. Remember that hatcheries are just that, and they source eggs from elsewhere. Mistakes are occasionally made along the line.

Next time you chat with Meyer, ask what farms they source eggs from. I bet they come from more than one place.

I took the liberty of emailing Greenfire Farms to see if they source to Meyer Hatchery. I asked if it's possible you won the chicken lottery. Lol! Let's see if they respond.

Greenfire will not disclose any customer information, even the hatcheries. That's a fair answer. So, I sent a link to this thread to see if they will have a look and confirm or deny whether it is a blue birchen marans. We'll see if they will do it.

If you haven't yet, it might be quicker to show the picture to Meyer. I think Greenfire thinks I'm being a pest. Which I am.

Blue Marans....pattern is more similar to a Blue Birchen but he's more likely a Blue Copper with incorrect coloring. Could be from an Olive Egger mix as well.
