Confused and Concerned

Sorry I’m no help with the situation but her coloring looks very similar to my Sapphire Gem who I have noticed her feathers looking “unkept as well”. Good luck!

After doing some research and cleaning we realized that she does have Vent Gleet. We'll treat her for it immediately. We also realized that the breeder we bought from misidentified Belle and that she really is a Blue Copper Maran. Thank you all so much! I never realized how much help BYC could be! As for our easter egger Clucker, she passed away soon after I posted in the forum. We believe what she had was Mareck's disease, as her paralysis got much worse and she began having convulsions. We had to cull her. Now however we found that all of our (now four) chickens are missing feathers somewhere or have half of feathers. We know one of our chickens is a bully, but even she is missing feathers. It's been a rough month in terms of chicken care!

I'm glad you were able to check her over and discovered the Vent Gleet.

Can you post a photo of the feather loss? If all of them have loss, could they be molting? Look to see if they have new growth or if the feathers are broken and/or pulled out.

Agree with stopping all treats .... I quit feeding veggies & fruits scrapes, found once I did their poop got alot less soft. Discovered too much grass clippings softens their poop too. So I stopped all treats , they get their fermented Flock Raiser & 1/8 cup BOSS and 1/8 MW, nice firm poop
