OK, I'm safely convinced Rousseau is a hen. She gave a bona fide squat today, after making an absolute ruckus a few hours earlier. I expect an egg tomorrow or soon after.

It looks like there's a little blood on the shell - is that anything to worry about?

the blood streak is nothing to worry about. As he body adjust to egg laying it will happen less often or not at all.
