I have two females. One Magpie Duck and one Mallard. They are approximately 6 months and 1 years respectively.
Apparently, about a month ago, they have decided to live an "alternate" lifestyle and now the female magpie is "fertilizing" the female mallard. She's a real horndog and will mount the mallard about 4 times per day. Well, that is all good and to each its own, however, the mallard has now created a nest and is has laid for the last 3 days, one egg each day.
The question is,.....Does she expect her eggs to hatch? Should I just leave them alone till they start to stink.
Should I find someone with fertilized eggs that I could swap out? What????
I want them to be happy and if they want to start a family, that's fine too. However, I am concerned that they are going to be disappointed.
Thoughts? Advice?
