Confused/Help

Is that only while they are receiving the Corid, or in general don't give it to them

From Corid manufacturer's site: "CORID mimics thiamin (Vitamin B1) which is required by coccidia for normal growth and reproduction. When coccidia ingest CORID, they experience thiamin deficiency and starve from malnutrition." So you don't want to add extra thiamine when trying to starve it out of the coccidiosis.

I'm so sorry you lost your babies. From what I can see of your setup, you haven't done anything wrong. Certainly NOT cooked them.
I'm curious if your brooder is set up in your house? Do you have any new cookwear or a new stove? Off gassing from teflon can be issues with those. Since you have had chicks before that is the only thing I can think of that others haven't.I can't think of anything else to add that others haven't said already.
I hope your other littles are ok!

We have a very large house, currently, the brooder is set up in our office (which is a master bedroom size). The brooder is on top of a table. We do not have a new stove or cookware. Well, about 2 months ago I purchased some stoneware, but that was seasoned and used multiple times prior to getting our chicks.

But as of this morning we still have 3 chicks standing strong! It looks like all the suggestions Casportpony gave us is working. I just wish I knew which one was the culprit.

I'm so glad to hear they're doing well! It is very frustrating not to know what the problem was. Doesn't sound like the stove/cookware was the problem.

Would it be safe to say that I received the chicks already infected that's why they were dying off 24-48 hours since I brought them home?

Hi all, following because I am having the same issue. Got a batch of 3 silkies and 3 polish a week ago and already down to 3.

We tossed all their food, water, and pine bedding. Cleaned the brooder box. Then put paper towels down. Fresh feed (only enough for the day), water with the recommended dose of Corid, along with 1 drop orally per chick and they are doing fantastic so far. almost 48 hours and I still have my last 3 chicks!!! :love

CONGRATS!!!! Hope everything stays well for your little ones. We did the same, but it seemed like it helped till this morning. We lost another Polish last night, down to 1 silkie and 1 polish now. These 2 have been stronger and more active than the rest so, fingers crossed.
