The blue an EE Roo the black I was second guessing
All chickens aren't the sameFirst of all, these are not my pics and I do not claim to own them. They are just examples.
^ This is a blue laced red Wyandotte at about the same age as your chicks. Notice how the lacing is much more defined. Also, notice how the beak is a solid yellow. The legs of wyandottes are always yellow as well, which means yours can not possibly be a wyandotte because of the more green color.
^ This is an Easter Egger slightly older than yours. Even though this EE happens to have more red than yours, notice how the coloring is more in random splashes than in a lace pattern. Also (it is sort of difficult to see in this pic) but the tip of the beak is a dark color, as are the tips of the beaks of your birds. Additionally, there is no defined leg color for Easter Eggers. Some of mine have grey, some have green, some have yellow. This one has yellow legs, but yours has the trademark green legs.
Hope this clears things up for you!
EE are mutts that carry the blue genes, if your going by that Roo in the pic, then why is the legs yellow and not green? Just thought I'd throw that in thereAll chickens aren't the same![]()
The one on the left is a cockerel, looks to be an EE and the one on the right is a pullet, not sure on her breed, but she is a mix.
