Confused on what internal pipping looks like?

Wow sooo helpful! Thanks a lot! I. My mallard is already pipped and the other 3 haven't so my concern was whether or not i needed to start the clock on what I have read about them being internally pipped but unable to externally pip after a certain amount of time running risk of suffocation...eek!! So would you say not to worry about that?
So much of hatching is a total judgement call. I’m pretty hands on, but where I’m not hands on is the beginning of the hatch. I’m nice you start assisting things, you have lots of assisting to do. Helping one early often sacrifices the others. Not to say you’ll lose them, but you’ll have to be hands on for each once you start opening that incubator.

If the mallard is pipped that’s progress and for now all is good. once my first pip occurs I’m done checking. As long as something is pipped, there’s no “checking” for me. Once the mallard has fully hatched if there’s nothing going on, I would check again. If the mallard hatched and there’s a pip elsewhere, I would not check.

Hi.
My second Incubated viable Runner Duck Egg, was very active and moving
about last night. Really moving about, and their bill was definitely visable on candling. I needed to add water to my Janoel 12, as humidity starts to decline after 2 days.
As Lockdown takes 3 days, I needed to add additional 50ml of warm water onto the sponge laid, up the side of the incubator base.
* I know lockdown normally means do not open your incubator, but, as I am familiar with controlling humidity, and how to manage it. Opening quickly, adding warm water, and a very brief candling can be done, at the same time !
⚠️ Tip !
I shine a super bright tiny LED torch (flash light) thru the air sac of the egg, without touching it at all !

As I only had a couple of eggs, one with terrible air sacs, so a quick peek was possible.

This affected 'egg' continued along
the incubation process. I needed to check it, and my viable egg continued to be 'doing really well.'

This quick check was at 4.30am this morning... I have farm equipment driving by on harvest mode !!! So up, and having an egg check, with a cup of tea. My 'Good Egg' was showing a tiny external pip on the top of the egg. (At the upper part of the already seen part of the air sac. (Noted through days of incubation, this increases in size.)

Alas, the other egg was very dark, with a halo of an pale orange edge to it.
On examination, this seemed 'gloopy' and moved, or more like, 'slid' about in side the shell. It didn't hatch, despite, me thinking, how could it go 25+ days, with such awful air sac positions.
Nonetheless, I have a beautiful second duckling still continuing the yolk absorption, resting up, before doing the full break out !!!
This duckling is so big, compared to Daisy's 'Egg,' I wonder if he might be a boy... ??? A Runner with a huge orange bill and big orange feet !

Could this duckling be a hubby for darling Daisy Duckling. Both are Runner ducks. :wee
[The egg was pencilled F/W/] ...
I think it's 'White' Runner !?!

Daisy was given to me via a local lady, who's daughter had a F/W Runner Duck Hen and Drake. :wee

This huge duckling, "it" is an eBay egg.
Of a purchase, of x2 F/W, x2 White, and x2 Black Crested. :idunno

If "it" is a boy... I think Duncan Duck, will do nicely. I just need to be patient, and do my second try at venting !
A 50 / 50 thing !!!
:thumbsup
Meantime...
Here is my second duckling !!! :ya
That has justed hatch... :jumpy
This was this afternoon at : 1.27pm !!! I'm so happy !!!
:celebrate
My new Runner Duckling ( ? F/W) .... Born today !!!

Could he be boy ??? I think it's 'White' rather than a F/W, that's pencilled on the egg !?!

Who now has a F/W Runner Duck to be with... :love
Daisy... you have a incubator sibling !

Above : First incubation of a duck !
My first ever hatching of a duck egg.
was my duckling 'Daisy.' She had to be helped, as she and an associated egg were overdue, and showing signs of stress. Daisy was fine, her sibling was tiny, alas, and died five days later.
(This is Daisy on hatching a month ago.)

Thank you. One other thing: i noticed one of my eggs in a puddle of condensation. Will that warrant a quick open of the bator? Thoughts on that?

I mean I would probably. That’s why I mentioned judgement call. You just want to know what you’re getting into. ;)

Do you have a spray bottle? My favorite thing to do for a necessary quick open is crack the lid and spray the lid. If you’re quick you may get just a 1% drop. It will start spiking from the mist, and that’s when you can go in and grab what you need!

Yes!!! I def have a spray bottle what a great idea if need be! Love that and thank you!! I am at 72% humidity and 99.5 degress F. You think that is okay for welsh harlequin, cayuga, white crested? The mallard seems to like it but its day 28 the others are rocking but i don't hear a knockin...yet:p

Yes ducks like that 70% range I think. Ive only hatched ducks once, so I’m just repeating what I found with humidity, I really don’t have too much experience there.

Cool!! If they rock their shell so much that they roll over to their not so optimal position should i quickly put them back to where they were or should i let nature do its thing still.
