Does anyone else have a roo that kicks. I don't know if this will work every time but I put him in roo jail which is a square meter by meter cage that I put in their sleeping cage. So when he is in there he can see all the hens but can not get to them. So now if I see him trying to storm or kick I will just give him a warning. And usually he stops and walks away like 'I did nothing' and everyone is happy!

I'm down to 3 roosters... my amerarucana tries to bite my toes, but doesn't try chasing me, my BCM roo is an angel though and has never tried to bite me in his life, even though he's a giant.

But then there's Peter.
Peter is a miniature bantam that weighs literally nothing and thinks he's some sort of macho man that can take me down. He has 2inch log spurs (my fault, I need to trim them) and he has learned how to use them. The sad irony? Peter used to be an indoor pet chicken for the first 2yrs of his life and was a cuddly angel. I moved him outside a few months ago so he could be in a bigger enclosure (and so I could actually sleep past 4am) and suddenly I'm public chicken enemy #1... I don't know who he's trying to impress, he's seen time and time again that the big girls don't give a twopence about him and would eat him if given the chance.
*sigh* Boys.:barnie

Anyway, ignore my long story, since peter is a mini I grab him by his legs and hold him like an angry bouquet of roses. Sometimes I offer him to the goose if i'm particularly pissed off with him that day... the goose hasn't accepted my sacrificial offering yet though, so Peter presists

I have considered feeding him to our dog or eating him myself but my mother is so attached to that roo he is practicly a bany to her. A.K.A. acording to her he can do no wrong and apparently I am the problem and need to be gentler and kinder to the 'poor creamy'. Yea right if he has his way my legs will look like chicken mesh at the end of the day. Full of holes.

Some roos are just like that:idunno

My brother swears the amerarucana will chase and hunt him down if he's out, but I've never had any issues besides the toe biting when I go too close to his enclosure... and that's also kinda on me since I'm always wearing sandals. Heh. Have you tried a spray bottle? Adjust the stream to jet spray and spray him when he tries any funny business
