A bit late but you might find a greater variation of gauge and patterns by searching for weldmesh fencing.

I started out with 1/4inch for my apron. When I needed more I got 1/2 inch. About a year later I had to slightly move the coop so up came the apron. The 1/4 inch was rusted. The 1/2 inch was fine. I will never recommend 1/4 inch.
