Confusion on a chick's breed

I have 1 chick that hatched from a blue egg and it's dark brown to BLACK in color. Are EEs supposed to have black chicks? It does have white/yellow circle on it's cheeks. I wish I had a working camera to take a picture to show.

EE's are of various colors and shades. The white ones are oh so pretty.
