hAhahaha debbie aka little blue has 86 orp eggs an 12 turkey eggs do to hatch over the next 3 weeks.an 4-5 pea eggs going in later this week with 40 more eggs for a friend of ours give us a little brooding break.lol

LOL now I know I'm not the only crazy hatching nut out there! Now if someone can tell my Araucana's that I do not need anymore chicks around here THAT, would be helpful

(i think my araucana hens are just as bad as my silkie hens are at being broody!!!!)

It's not like I'm a vegan or anything, but I am eating less chicken now that we have them. I wasn't expecting that. And that's why I'm never getting a pig because once you name it... I just can't imagine the horror of a world without bacon.

Hi Beth, not sure if you're the same Beth G. who was (is?) a member of the SW CT/Westchester poultry meet-up? If not, you can stop reading!

If so, you're the same Beth who took two of my little RIR hatchery pullets off my hands for me last spring. (thanks again!). Just wanted to say hi! I'm also interested in your above post. I have some adorable little cockerels from this spring's hatch and I doubt if I'll be able to find homes for all of them, but they are nice little guys from BYC breeders. I have 2 light sussex, 1 wheaten ameruacana, several marans, and several olive eggers (marans roo over lavendar ameraucana hens). I'd be happy to pay a fee for your instruction as well - I feel strongly about learning to take responsibility for my birds from start to finish, but it isn't easy finding someone with heart and knowledge to do the teaching. And if anyone out there is interested in any of my little guys, let me know!
