Hi,

It depends on the breeds. For Silkies and BantiesI do 60-65% But for Araucana's and Orps I never exceed 55%. I'm no expert by any means but, have done enough hatches to know with certain breeds you need to do different things. I coached a woman in Ma that bought 2 dozen eggs from me and some were Araucana's with the tufted death gene, Out of 24 she got 20 chicks. Not bad for being transported and moved around alot....lol. But, She and I had the same incubator with an egg turner and a turbo fan. Do you use still air or a fan? Do you have a turner?

B

this batch was in a still air lg with turner from now on they will be in a sportsman an hatching in a lg try to lower it right now took out all the sponges

I hope it helps. I just hate it when you go through all of the effort to hatch them and something like humidity makes their feet all screwy looking. Your's is not that bad. I wouldn't go too crazy taking all the sponges out. How many sponges do you have in there?

Hi CT BYC'rs

I have up for auction if anyone is intersted locally please let me know, a Bantie Wyadotte Pullet. She is really cute but, she is the only one I have. I bought her from the breeder at the Boston Poultry Show last fall. I just had her tested and she is negative for A.I., Pullorum, and AIG. If not sold on here I will be bringing her to the show in MA on May 1st.

Also, my friend in Cheshire that is not a BYC member has two Private Breeding stock Buff Orp 11 month old hens for sale. She is asking $25.00 per hen. If you buy both together she would let them go for $45.00 for the two.

She could only catch one to take photo's of. The other Pullet is alittle better looking in my opinion. She bought them from a breeder here in CT out of East Hampton. Not sure of the woman's name but, I will say these are really nice birds and not hatchery stock.

PM me if interested and I will get you in touch with her.

Thanks,
Beth

That banty is gorgeous, Beth. I'm so afraid none of my eggs are going to hatch. If they don't, I would love to take her. I'll let you know after I candle on the weekend.

Hi,

Let me know they are not up for auction and she probably wont actively sell them till after Easter on Craigslist. I think she did one ad but, the person that said she wanted them blew her off!! Sometimes I just hate Craigslist stuf...................... errrrr

Oops, sorry... Missed that you said auction. If my candling proves the worst, I'll keep an eye on the auction.

No problem it's okay

Not sure that who ever buys her will want to pay the 50 bucks to ship her if ya know what I mean

that's why I figured I'd mention it locally and if that doesn't work they I will sell her at the show coming up.
