Connecticut!

Well, not quite 'chicken related' plans for the weekend...unless you need to replace plants they've destroyed? For my gardening friends in the Bethel area-Wilton garden sale is tonight from 4-6:30 and tomorrow from 9-1 at Wilton Town Green; Redding sale is tomorrow 9-1 Redding Town Hall Green; Bethel is 5/14th 9-12 behind the church on Greenwood(by municipal center). Last year I went to Redding and Bethel and got some great deals on plants

OTher than that, I told my husband that for Mother's Day, for MY labor I want HIS labor-he needs to clear out the tree trunks left by the prior owner of our house from the area I want to put my chicken coop once he builds it

We'll be going to Common Ground Farm in New Haven.(Check out the website if you've never heard of it, it's a high school and farm .) It's "meet baby chicks day" there.

May 7 Meet Baby Chicks: Just like the eggs, baby chicks come in many different colors! We invite families to visit the farm and meet our mother hens and their new baby chicks. Learn about the amazing journey from egg to chick and take home information about free-range, humanely raised poultry and eggs. This is a free event.

I can't believe this place is about 15 mins from my house!! I never knew it was there!! What time are you going? I looked at the website and it didn't give a time to go

Our weekend plans are to build the garden beds and get planting (seedlings are started and waiting) and finish cleaning out the chicken area of the barn, putting in the poultry netting and putting up roosts. the babies will be going outside soon ... if it ever stops getting close to freezing overnight

Wow that sounds like you are going to be very very busy!! I hope it all comes together smoothly for you!!

Our chicken related plans are to work on the coop for part of Saturday. I actually have to run to Home Depot in a few minutes and then swing by Arisco Farms in Cheshire to get my veggie plants, which will hopefully be planted next week.
Have a Happy Mother's Day everyone.

I was listening to the radio this morning and there was a commercial about "this is what moms want for Mother's Day" and it was some electronics store or something ... ipads, notebooks, iphones, etc. Is it wrong that what I want for Mother's Day is dirt? Lots and lots of dirt?
