How's the little pullet? What did your daughter name her?

I might be able to help with the Orp's. Have your friend email me.

Beth

The LeFleche (Ill post pix once I'm back online at home) is named Edith. As you know.. all my other girls (including my daughters) have old-fashioned names. Well, this little French birdie was singing a tragic song like a chanteuse all the way home and all evening, so I just had to give props to Edith Piaf. (Edith Piaf was a French singer born to a prostitute mother and street-acrobat father, not to be confused with Rice Pilaf, with taste good with chicken.) She is doing fine and is getting used to being held. I just hold her close to my chest as much as I can to help her calm down.

In other news..

A bunch of neighborhood kids recently realized that we have chickens in our backyard and now come over every evening to hold our big girls. I require the use of hand sanitizer and I don't let any of them into the run. I want them to come over - most have never seen a chicken before - but I want to make sure I don't have sick chickens or sick children.

That is soo cute!! I do know know of Edith but, it is nice you gave us a history lesson on it!!!

I hope she settles for you and gets used to being held.

I think it is great the kids get involved. Maybe before you know it your whole street will be clucking with happy egg songs!!!! lol

Oh, I wish you had introduced yourself! We had so much fun, but it all happened so fast.

Everyone was deep in conversation and I didn't want to interrupt... but if I had, I might've asked if I could wander around your gardens and check them out, they're wonderful! My hubby is very lucky he's already building the tractor coop, or he might have a couple other projects to do now!

Well, you'll have to come by some other time to see the garden and talk properly.
