Sounds like you have been bitten by the chicken bug!

This time of year is not a good time for laying in CT that could be why you are not getting alot of responses. The only thing that is laying regularly in my backyard flock are my ducks but, they are setting on the eggs so I'm sorry I can't help you there. Not to mention they roam a big swamp and I couldn't find the eggs if I tried

My quail have quit laying ever since the days have gotten shorter. My chickens, samething too if they aren't moultying or finishing up a moult they are too young to lay

Me too and the local farm stand is having the same problem. The local IGA has some from somewhere in Prospect and the eggs aren't bad, not as good as fresh my chickens.

My Silkie pullets are laying I've been getting one or two a day seems a waste to eat them but I don't do store eggs and am through with hatching until spring. The Orpingtons are finishing a molt and probably will wait until spring to lay again. It's going to be a long winter.
