Bristol is pretty centrally located, you should be able to find someone with those breeds, although it's been my experience that it's a little harder this time of year than the Spring when everyone has hatching fever. Beth G is in Bethany and she has lovely Orpingtons and Araucanas. You might PM her to see what she has available. Here's a link to her site: http://www.gff-llc.webs.com/Dear New Chick 203
thanks for replying to our post:
"Hello Fellow Connecticut BYC Members:
We are looking to add 4 more of any of these types of pullets to our current flock: Wyandotte, Araucana, Orpington, Austrolop and any hen that lays white eggs. We are hoping to get these hens from the same person and hoping that they are around 5-7 months old. Can anyone help us? Thanks!"
We are in Bristol, do you have any of the pullets we are looking for?
Ambler farm often has adolescent chickens that need to be re-homed (after the kids programs are done) this time of year. http://www.amblerfarm.org/
Boston Poultry Expo is Nov. 3 and I hear it's a good place to find birds.
Good luck.
