We have three Rhode Island Reds (roughly 15 months old) who need a new home. We picked them up from friends a couple weeks ago because they are reducing their flock size. Also, because these hens are egg eaters. Yes, we hoped to "cure" them, but it hasn't happened. They are laying, and they are eating any eggs they can get their beaks into. So, if anyone has roll-out nests or if you are looking for a couple birds for the crock pot, please let me know. All three, reasonable price.

My friend also has 4 Red Sex-Link hens (rhode island reds cross with barred rock) there around 3 years old and there laying has slowed down. If anyone is interested all four for free

I wanted to come on and send lot of thoughts and prayers to all the families in CT who were affected by the tragedy today. Growing up in CT i never thought in a million years something that tragic would ever happen in my home state. It saddens me to think this is the world I have to now raise my 2 children in. My heart aches for those families who lost their loved ones today.

I just wanted to say that my heart is breaking for the Newtown community. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. How sad that this madman took so many innocent lives today. I can't imagine what that community is going thru. Again, so sorry .
