Connecticut!

I'm on the boarder, but while I don't have any chicks right now I will soon. My chicken is broody so I'm trying to get her eggs this week that will hatch in 3 weeks. I don't have room to keep them all so...
Hey all, I am a New Yorker, but have a friend close to the ct border. She wants to start out with three or four girls for her family. anyone near Danbury or Stamford with chicks? She is in westchester ny and it would be closer for her to head to CT.

Best wish
Well while I am here,
My girlfriend lives in Milford.....I'm visiting her this weekend, anyone from around there? I was wondering what the laws are like in that area. My husband and I thought about moving that way once before but now I refuse to move someplace my chickens can't go

Most of Milford is very nice I used to live there near silver sands, and I used to own chickens, but I was more in the suburb area

3 Americaunas
3 Barred Rocks
3 silver laced wyandotte

I would love to be involved in this!

Hello Fellow CT'ers,
Not sure if anyone remembers me popping in on this thread a while back but I was born and raised in CT up until about 4 years ago when we had to move to NY for my husband's job. Looks like we'll be heading back to the CT area (or right outside) again and was wondering if anyone could give me any recommendations of "country like" towns to look in just to see what's out there as far as real estate goes. We won't be moving for another year or so but when we do I'd like to have an idea as to WHERE to look. We do have chickens and just got started with ducks. I would really hate to have to give all those up because of this move. Right now we live in the sticks of farm country and I love it. No noise other than horses and chickens from distant neighbors. No city lights, we can pretty much have whatever we wanted on our land(if we weren't renting LOL) If anyone knows of some areas or where should be looking that would be great! Thanks so much!!

Your property sounds wonderful! Like my dream acreage! I would love to attend a bash related to chickens. My family (DH and kids) think my hobby is way out there. It would be wonderful for them to see there are others like me!

Welcome and good luck! I don't have any specific towns to suggest but I know they are out there! We only have 0.4 acres and in my town you need 2 acres to keep chickens. I'm illegal. So far so good, neighbors are OK with it.

I'd look in the Northwest part of CT.. so beautiful up there. In some of the more woodsy areas the real estate prices were lower too. I used to look at the real estate listings there all the time... but there's no way we can leave our family farm that's been here for so long.. too sentimental! We are in Berlin (central CT) and not very many farms and you need 3+ acres to legally have chickens.
