I’m in Higganum, near Middletown!

My family is trying to move to Connecticut, and I want to bring some of my chickens with me. But it's far away and we'll be in temporary housing.

I don't know if I have to rehome all of my chickens here. I'm really attached to a few of them and would like to bring them, but we'll be staying in a hotel for a week or a few and there's no way we'll be able to have our chickens at any. Even if we keep them in a box in the car or something that seems bad.

I was told to ask here if there are any places that offer temporary housing for people who are moving? Or if anyone here can help with chickens while we move? It'll probably only be 4 to 8... as much as I'd like to bring 16 chickens across country, that's pretty unrealistic.

Once it gets closer to move I'll be able to share a very clear moving timeline if that will be helpful

I’m in Western Mass and I may be able to take care of them for you.

I will PM you.

I’d like to know this too.

Anyone have any suggestions for rehoming 2 roosters? They’re about 16 weeks old. One is blue Plymouth Rock, large, very nice (for now). Other is amberlink, smaller, more aggressive (so more ready to protect).

They’re both crowing and while it doesn’t really bother me, I don’t want it bothering the neighbors. My 6 year old is fairly attached so I’m not keen on letting my husband eat them. If someone else was going to though, then out of sight out of mind.

I can’t keep both regardless since we only have 4 hens. We’re located in Lebanon.

I have never had to deal with this, but I have to say that if I have learned anything here on BYC, it is that 1 the roosters tand to be the favorites and 2 bribery with eggs tends to lower conplaints from neighbors 😉.
Good luck with your boys!

I am in North Windham, I would love to take a look at them. I am definitely looking for one rooster, uncertain about taking two but if they're not rough with my ladies, I'd be happy to take them in.

I still have 4 roosters available. I am culling them for meat, but one is alittle smaller and is a beauty(silverrudds blue). Does anyone know of a farm or person that would butcher them around the northwest corner? I would personally but I cannot at this time, physically.

anyone near Danbury looking for guinea hen keets there are six of them from this summer I do not know the genders
