Connecticut!

I have a few 3 week old chicks that need a new home if anyone's interested.
Straight run, breed unsure but guessing australorp. Chicks were hatched at home but we have no idea which chick is from which egg.

Hello,
I am fairly new to the chicken world. We had chickens when I was a teen in southern California. But that was a long time ago. I am now living in Northeast Connecticut (tiny town of Danielson) and my husband and I are thinking of getting some chickens. We have to get approved by the town, and I believe we have to get signatures from our neighbors. According to what it says on our town website, we would be allowed to have up to 6 chickens, no roosters. We are still in the research phase. Looking for advice on cold hardy chicken breeds. I am hoping to get some rare breed chickens and chickens that lay chocolate brown egg, blue eggs and brown eggs. I have some breeds in mind, such as Buff Brahmas, Buff Orpingtons, Golden Polish, Gold-laced Wyandotte...I think I have too many I want....lol! Hoping to have "friendly" chickens. Anyway, so that's why I'm here, any advice that can be given would be great. Incidentally, My avatar is a picture I took of the Golden Polish chick that my mom in California recently bought. I think it's adorable! Not sure if it's male or female. Thanks!

Well, personally, I have what is in my signature below... but something to checkout for you might be the mypetchicken.com page. They have a little survey thing to help you figure out what you want or need.

Thanks, I did checkout MyPetChicken.com There are some useful tools there. I've been going back and forth between this place and that one, reading all I can. LOL!

Hi, I live in Woodbridge (right outside of new haven) and looking for some he pullets. I'm not picky about breeds but do want options. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If you don't mind raising the pullets from chicks then you could see if your local tractor supply is getting chicks for fall chick days. If they are then I'd recommend going early that way you have good pickins
