Connecticut!

Hi, I'm from CT and I have a variety of chickens:

BUFF ORPINGTONS
EASTER EGGERS
POLISH
LEGHORNS
COCHINS

Polish aren't cold hardy, but I love them so much, I put heat lamps on in the morning!

Southern CT, close to the water. All of us are supposed to got a lot of snow today! I already have jugs of water inside for them and a ladder and roosts outside to encourage them out, I even put a plastic cover over part of the run for them! I must be a chicken boy if I do that!

Hello fellow Nutmegers,

I'm in Burlington and will be starting my flock in the spring. I had chickens as a kid but it's been awhile. I will be getting 5 Americanas 3 silverlaced Wyandotes and 2 Cyuga ducks.
I've been doing a ton of research on your site and everyday I learn something new or change my coop design a little.
Can't wait till spring! I'll let ya know how it all works out.

Hi Tamra

Make sure you make that coop twice as big as you think you need.....you'll want MORE chicks soon enough

Sam, my chickens came out this morning. They too have a partially covered run. But as soon as the snow came, in they went, although they did come out for the wheat sprouts I brought them

Mine come out right when they hear me walking by! It's like they expect me to think they've been outside the whole time! I put a bowl of treats outside for them and once they finished, they paraded back in. Chickens sure are funny!!!!!!!!!!
