Blue/Black/Spash Ameraucanas. I just lost my roo to some critter, gotta hatch while the eggs are still fertile.

The d'uccles are gorgeous, but if I had every breed that caught my eye, I'd be in the poor house !!

28 days to hatch, right? So they would be hatching around mid-March, the 10th.
St Pattie's Day is a week later on the 17th.
Easter's the first Sunday in April... I bet kids would love to adopt a few.
Not the best idea though. Unless their savvy to chickens not liking to be manhandled...
Then about 5 months until they start laying, right? August or September.
Yup, good time to start the inkybater.

I'm setting whatever the girls give me over a 3 day period....probably only 6-8 since they are molting (what a cold time to do that!)
21 days to hatch, give or take. It's an old incubator in an old drafty house, so we make allowances

We are in all kinds of neighborhoods and have to keep it quiet to avoid the ! Chicken Police !
Except for us roosters, who get out to make noise occassionally, when the old hens/biddies let us!
