What kinda gals did you get?

Hi Everyone,
Moosehillfarm here. Haven't been to BYC in ages. Busy summer in the garden and raising chicks. Gotta keep the flock fresh! Around Easter of this year, met BagEnd Hen at a Dunkin Donuts and bought 3, day old chicks, a Barred Rock, a Speckled Sussex and an Australorp. They're gorgeous and are with the rest of the flock now. In July, a Buff Orp and an Australorp hatched out 6 little mutt chicks, at least one of the broken eggs was green so there's Easter Egger in the mix too. Let mamas raise them for 3 days and now they're in the garage. The last bird from our original 2003 flock recently died. Rhoda had a very good run!

Missed not having a Chickenstock this year, but DH begged for a time out after hosting 2 of them. People came from NY, RI and MA to the second. A lot to do. I looked into Osborndale State Park but fees were high and finally they declined my application anyway. I still would like to do something here but it would have to be on the smaller side; maybe limit it to New Haven/ Valley people. Great to see how many of us there are! There's a chicken club in Oxford?! Maybe we could get them involved too.

I also have an Easter Egger roo that I'd be happy to part with. He's fine, but I have 2 others, just too many roosters.

Three americanas and a leghorn. It's so different having them outside, a brave new world in my backyard.
