Sure do! Route 8 is the hwy closest to my town. It is not close to Bethel though.

Darn it..Sorry my bad...(Confused it with Beacon Falls Area..)

Hehe that's okay that is my neck of the wood!! I love it if only I can get rid of my dummy neighbor that would make it even better. I live next to NSF!! I complain about the neighbor b/c they are just annoying but, in reality I can't see them unless I drive in and out of my driveway. But, still before they moved in a few years back our neighborhood was sooo quiet and peaceful. Hebron is really nice too!!

Remember that not everybody is chicken-legal, T.

AHHH Good point!

My story on the 'legal' issue:
I had ordered the chickens before considering the whole permit deal...Then in the middle of building the coop, the guilt got me..
The coop was being converted from a shed that I converted from the previous home owner's dog kennel. (thats a mouthfull!) The dog kennel had been framed and a concrete floor was poured..Its was right on the edge of the my property which is 1.7 acres...My backyard abuts to woods and the sideyard is separated from the neighbor with 20 foot high evergreen hedges...However being the Mr. Social that I am, I had spoken to our neighbor about my plans for chickens, promised him no roosters. He was cool with it, and actually seemed excited!

So I sent the Zoning official in my town an email telling him about the chickens, my conversation with my neighbor along with his name and address and what and where I was building my coop and his response was..."You need nothing further from my office. I will print this email and put it in your file"....YAAAAAAAAAY! Was I happy and relieved :)
He did not even ask me to get a permit which accoring to the zoning stuff on the town's website you need one...But hey who am I to argue??? LOL

As far as a guard dog, we have a Pug that couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper pag...I think my kids tropical fish would put up a bigger fight!

I know where Bethel is!

I go to church in Newtown on Route 302 and see signs for Bethel. I don't know where Hebron is.

I've only lived in CT for 2 1/2 years, though (I'm an Indiana transplant by way of Boston, NYC, Maine and NYC again). I'm the one on Route 8 (Naugatuck Valley).

Hebron is located east of Glastonbury..(about 20 minutes south/southeast of Hartford).
A rural town of about 9,000 people. I moved here from Meriden 3 years ago this month.

The town's claim to fame it the annual Hebron Harvest Fair that takes place in Sept. It is pretty big and attracts large crowds.
You should check it out.
