Hi, CBS! Yes.. I've ordered the chicks. They will be hear around the 25th of August. I've got a countdown going on my Facebook page and all my friends guessing exactly what is going to happen in 9 days! (Todays hint: "Nine more days! But I'm not brooding about it!")

We are getting two Welsummer and two Easter Eggers. I love the colors of the Welsummer and from what I hear they are very docile and friendly. These will be our 4H birds (which reminds me I need to call 4H tomorrow). The Easter Eggers I thought would be fun for the green eggs.

I got a 12x12 dog kennel off of Craigslist today. Next weekend hubby will help me put it together so I can then reinforce it with hardware cloth and cover it with aviary netting. I've got the brooder ready in the garage.

Are you showing at any more fairs this summer?

The Guilford Fair... and I THINK that's all, but I'm not sure. If you ordered the chickens from a hatchery, they're most definitely NOT going to be show quality.....I'm thinking you ordered from My Pet Chicken, right?

Tomorrow, my dad and I might have to do surgery on my 2 polish (AHHHHH!) because they have bumblefoot. YUCK! Wish me luck, CBS!
