I'll keep my eyes open. I only have one silkie rooster and he's not black. We're attached to him anyway! I checked Craigslist real quick. There is one ad from earlier this month for "ornamental" chickens somewhere in RI.

Hey folks,
I'm telling you there are tons of birds at the auction in Middlefield right here in CT. I go for quail and pheasant, but there lots of ducks and hens. It gets a little crowded sometimes. They do it every Monday night. Unless its an important holiday. Usually it starts early, and they get to the birds and rabbits around 2:30 or 3:00. You can inspect them before hand. Wear your barn boots. They don't have an official website so do a google search. I only live 2 miles away but if I had to drive a long way, I would, and there are lots of out of state plates.

we went to the auction i was not very impressed mostly roos an meat birds not to many hens i did end up talking to a guy there an we followed him to his house an bought our silver pied peacock.he told us he does not bring his bird to the auction because the last few times he had birds from there they got his flock sick.somthing to look out for.but if you just want meat or game birds it is a home run they have a ton an pretty cheap.thanks jim

I'm looking to re-home my Japanese bantam. She's currently a house chicken, but started her life free ranging with her friends. She's actually always been kind of a loner. When I had a flock, she tended to keep to herself. I kept her b/c she's my favorite. She's been indoors for a year, goes outside sometimes to eat garden bugs. I would like someone local.

Hey there! Can't take her but I can vouch for the fact she's a sweetie and a half! If it weren't for the insane Golden Retriever, you KNOW DS would love to have her as a house pet.
