Hey, my 5 week old chicks still have their colds to varying degrees (some barely anything, some with clogged nares and weepy eyes). One now has a swollen face too...poor thing looks really uncomfortable; when I was using a wet paper towel to clean her face she was rubbing against it with enthusiasm, must've felt good! Someone (Beth??) said there was something I could rub on their beaks to act like Vicks and open up their nasal passages-but I don't see the posting. Anyone know what it is?

Had I known I would have saved it for you!! I have about 30 babies growing out and will do a cull in Sept or Oct to see who is staying for breed/show and who will be sold. If you do not find anything before then keep me in mind and send me a PM.

Best Wishes,
Beth

I would love to have the porcelain hens! I've been wanting D'uccles for some time now. And the silkie, too. I tried with the incubator but they didn't hatch. I have 6 Red Stars, 6 Polish, 3 Copper Marans, and 6 Arucanas and one pheasant-gender unknown. I have to give it some thought. I have a few cockerals to decide on whether to keep them or not. I hatched them all myself except for the stars. They are so much fun!

In my case, it's just that this duck went broody and we didn't get her off the nest quickly enough so we let her sit on her eggs. But we really don't need more ducks. So I posted they are available.

But it does seem like several people are looking to rehome some of their flock. I don't know as it's all that uncommon.

No Problem I do not have buff but, I will have some partridges I'm sure

Send me a PM in Sept. if you think of it and maybe we can works something out.

Hi,

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I go into the hospital in Boston for treatments and sometimes do not get on here for a few days.

If they have swelling in their face it is CRD/MG. Vetrx is for their beaks but, I really hope you get them antibiotics soon b/c you will lose them if it is CRD. Also, you need to close your flock. Where did you buyt these birds from? CRD is passed from hen to egg. It isn't till the birds become stressed that they show signs of CRD. You purchasing them, moving them, and if they were cramped could have trigger this. I pray I am really wrong on this one but, reading back on your posts I can not think of anything else.

So sorry
