Connecticut!

Beth, the girls are getting big. They are starting to be body guards for Mama rather than the other way around. Agatha, the lav, has kookie feathers. Could she have the gene that make frizzle, or sizzle feathers? (not sure what the difference is)

Well I started 14 eggs in the incubator at midnight, sort of anti-climatic considering all the work and anxiety leading up to it.

Now lets see if I can keep my grubby paws out of things

If all goes well I should have at least a few 4 week old traveling companions for Oct. 1

Thanks. I think they are going to be very pretty, but that's all due to Beth. The eggs were from her. (Don't tell Bobbie, she thinks she laid them)

New Chick; your birds are GORGEOUS!

Wow they are looking very pretty! They do not carry the gene as far as I know. I would contribute the off feathering to them still being a project

. Now that the color is established in your lav you would want to breed her back to a very nice LF black Cochin roo and try to get the type back to cochin looking birds. It really takes a long time to get a good end result but its sooo cool watching the offspring grow into the bird they are! I love playing chicken science

Hey Beth! Hope you are feeling well! I can't believe the summer is almost over. I'm already starting to thinking about BPS in the fall and who I will bring to sell. Lexi is pretty much ready for school...just a couple more things to get. I want to hear your story. Maybe I can call you on my way home from work today? Not sure what your schedule is. I'll send you a text. Talk soon!!

I'm so upset....my son brought his dogs over and one of his dogs killed my very sweet Marans rooster. Somebody had let her out of the house and she had him in her mouth....I am so upset!. I guess it was partially my fault, I didn't figure on anyone letting the dog out of the house. He was so sweet, great rooster. Now it will take me probably forever to find another. I'm so upset.....
