Yes I have a generator but, I can't keep it going 24/7

I've currently lost 4 chicks as of today b/c I can only spread so many amoungst the broodies and b/c we have to shut down the generator every 8 hours for a min of 2 hr cool off break time, that is when I am losing my little peeps

Anyone with power want to be my foster momma's or anyone with a lonely broody???

Beth, I wish i was closer! We have power, but on a good day it takes me an hour to get there, and so far I haven't even gotten as far as a market that has cold milk! We still have roads blocked.

Beth, I can help out. Let me know if you want to meet up. I'll just need to pick up some pine shavings. I can take 8-10 in my brooder. Unfortunately, I just had to break my d'Uccle of a mini "thinking-about-going-broody-hey-wait-did-someone-say-treats?" episode.

Beth, I'm sorry to hear about your losses but glad that you have some power some of the time. I have neither brooder nor broody hens, though. Good luck to you and the fuzzies.

We will be getting our power restored today!!!!

The message from our town hall was more geared toward the folks in town on backroads and side streets. Because I live on a main drag aka: State Road mine will come back alot sooner. I am saddened that my town folks will go without but, feel so lucky to get mine back and know my babies will be safe now!

My DH saw how upsett I was last night and took his welding generator and hooked up the brooder lamps to it so they didn't go without heat or light and get stressed out.

so far no more losses

hope it stays that way!!!

yay i hope you get your power back today we got ours back last night and left the generator going for an extra hour to make sure that it would not go back out​
