Now my DH wants me to cut back on Chickens and focus more on Turkeys. I told him no problem on working with the turkeys, build them a new area in the upper acre with a nice big roosting coop! But, I'm not cutting back on my chickens!!!!

Tina, I have the same problem it stinks!! But, I have soooo many pullets and very few hens so I'm guess that is why

So, do you like him? I think he's really cool to look at with all that barring! I think I have a hen that looks like him. Born the sameday and half the size. Also the nub on the head is not as big as the tom's

I can't believe I'm addicted to turkeys now

The blue slate has settled in nice. He goes and has a spot on a cedar roosting pole my husband put up the first night for them. He's the only one smart enough to hop up there and move over to the side hoping another turkey will join him

Then the Bronze cross boy has decided to leave the chicken coop and hang with the blue slate. I think he thinks it's his other buddy from before

I tried to candle the eggs and I know at least 3 are a definite. But, a few of the big ones have such a thick shell I can't candle them properly to see. So, I'm just going to wait and see what hatches at this point

I'll be happy if I get some of those pretty multi colored chicks. Speaking of Orp multi colored did you and Debbi see that woman that posted yesterday on Post pic of orps forum? Her hen reminds me of that one you were growing out. What happened to that one did it mature? Did you keep it?
