Connecticut!

I think it all depends on what you are using it for. For just a fence to keep chickens in, that is what chicken wire is for. To keep dogs and pred's out you need 11 gauge and you need to bolt it to beams in the ground and bury the fence 1 foot down. They if you are worried about babies getting out double up with chicken wire. The reason I say to do all of this is if you do it right and make it so nothing can get into the pen you can keep them penned up and go out whenever you get home and lock them in. If you know your going to be home you can let them freerange and lock them in a dusk. I hope this makes sense. Home depot sells the 6 ft high, 50 foot long rolls for about $95.00 dollars. Remember to put a roof over your pen to keep it from getting muddy and full of snow

I'm pretty flexible, so you tell me what works for you. Come for lunch too. The chicks will be 4 weeks old on Halloween, so I think Bobby will be ready to give them up soon.

I am using it to keep predators out. Over the bottom of the run, over the windows, vents, etc. I don't think I want to use chicken wire at all, except maybe if I section off the interior of the coop.

No not at all!! You helped me out big time

I just have to see what my husbands schedule is. He's building me a fourth pen for my cochins. I need to have more pen space so when I can't turn them out they have plenty of room to roam. We are also going to lift their coop 1 1/2 feet up off the ground to give them the under part of their coop to move around under and also get out of the weather if they still want to be outside. Then he is putting metal roofs on all the outdoor coops. So, I kinda have to be at his side if he needs something b/c its alot of work to get done in two weeks

With my work schedule now I know it will have to be on a Saturday is that okay?

Thanks so much for the pictures!!!

I found Tractor supply to carrier a good amount of Welded wire 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch squares. We put that over the windows and opening vents of all of our coops. That is probably the best for that. Then for the run I seriously would use the kennel wire 11 gauge. It is the strongest and if a big dog tries to probe the fence and get in like my neighbors dogs did, they CAN NOT Get through! I had 5 foot wood livestock fencing and put chicken wire over it to keep the chickens from roaming into the other neighbors properties. Never in a million years did I expect my neighbors dogs to come down my really really long rear lot driveway charge that fence rip a hole, get through, and kill my babies!!! It was really hard to deal with. So with that all being said, I would go for the best grade strongest you can find!!! But, I totally understand sometimes budgets don't allow it. I would also go online. I get magazines from Farm Tek, and Jefferslivestock. They carry the aviary netting, and different grades of welded wire. I found Agway to be WAY over priced on all their fencing so I would X them for looking. Home Depot and Tractor Supply locally are probably your best bet.
