yea the ones that been sitting there the longest i took out and cracked them open and all were fertile except the 1 oldest one, so 7 out of 8 were fertile

Candle them. Use a flashlight at night when it is dark. After 4 days, you will be able to see viening. Look up some pictures of candling eggs and what you should expect to see. I usually candle mine at 4 days and again around 10 days. That way, I can get rid of any that are infertile or stop developing.

Yea, wear a pair of gloves if you want (make sure they are clean). She'll probably peck you but it won't hurt. Don't bother candling them until Saturday since she just started sitting on them today. If they are fertile, you will see veining in the egg. It is really cool! Just don't candle too often because it isn't a good idea to keep taking them out from under her and exposing them to the cold. Hens will get off their nest every day to eat, drink, etc., so taking a couple minutes to candling them isn't a problem.

yea especially since its getting colder out too, i couldnt wait, i put X's on the eggs this morning to make sure they get turned, then i cleaned the coop, and when i went to shut the coops she was laying on them. so i took a picture lol, she's so independent, keeps to herself more then Taco and Waddles. Taco and Waddles are always with Rudy, Iris could care less, if she wants to explore she'll explore lol

Yea, she is pretty independent. You don't need to worry about turning the eggs when they are being hatched by a broody. She will turn them.

yea i didnt know one was gonna sit on them so soon lol, did make me wish i didnt pull all those eggs out but they did get pretty dirty, full of mud and poop from the chickens feet

I just collect the eggs and store them in an egg carton, small side down at room temperature. When one goes broody, I just go out and stick them under her.
