Aithne jolted in shock and quick as a flash, she was facing Incendia with tiny flames flickering along her neck and back. Sighing, she relaxed and laid down, turning her gaze to the scenery and responding with a disconnected "Hello."

"My...friend," Atero said. He gave Pompona a look that said, Just let me do the talking. "She's interested in the uprising--she wants to be on the winning side."

"I-I just wanted to know if you've noticed anything about Mel, living on a mountain and everything," Incendia said.

"Good girl." She snickered at Pompona.

Pompona tried to look brave, and almost hopeful. She didn't know what to say to Atero, who seemed to be doing all the talking. "Do you--do you think she could help?" he asked.

Crystal woke up and looked at Dapple. She got up and trotted to a nearby stream and got a drink, then began to graze.

Aithne sighed, and replied "She doesn't have a big force. She is trying to find either more warriors or a plan to attack that doesn't need a big force."

Mel looked at her for a while, clearly thinking about whether or not she should accept her. "Yes," Mel said finally, "I believe she could."

Dapple yawned and studied the paper for a few seconds before getting up to nibble on some clover.

Atero sighed with relief. "I can help," he said, "I can make her a warrior."
