Considering getting rid of chickens - recluses winning

Organic doesn't work, get the chickens out and use some proper chemicals!
I totally agree where i live we have BR & BW we never have had problem with BRs but we get BWs quite often we use a nasty wasp killer spray it works well bad for anything else though. You gotta squash their hole little life or their be lots more!

Where I live, in TN (and before I moved here from VA) Brown Recluse spiders were super aggressive. On the occasion where I would find them skittering across the floor or deck, they would jump at me. I even had one chase me across the living room before I managed to squish it with a shoe. Anyway, they certainly need to be taken care of. Could you dust under the coop heavily with DE? I'm not sure how effective it would be, but they are small spiders and I'd think it would cut their exoskeletons and dry them out like most other pests? If not, flipping the coop over and squishing them might be a good idea!

Good luck!

Thanks all. Flipping the coop isn't feasible as it's 10x16 and has an attached run that would be destroyed.

Here's my sad little plan. Going to clean out coop, hose hose hose then let it dry. Few days later I'm going to caulk the gaps between the deck boards. Think in is that if they can't get up from under the coop, their habitat will be less attractive.

Are you finding them up inside the coop...or are they just underneath it?
Where did you place the sticky trap?

I read here that sticky traps don't catch the adult females, but that insecticides DO work...even if you personally don't care to use them.
