Consolidated Kansas

Good luck, Candace.

I'm thinking I might go out and clean up the herb spiral today. Then again, for the last two days I haven't managed to get done what I thought I would, so who knows?!

Candace, Thoughts & prayers coming your way, I hope things go well for you.

IVY, I'm envious, I really would like to have some Royal Palms, but I don't have a pen for them right now, maybe next year.

I went out this morning & checked on my little rabbit that is due to have babies today. She pulled hair & has her little nest all cozy for the babies, so hopefully she's going to have them today or tomorrow. I'll take pics of them as soon as she has them. Baby rabbits are kind of ugly right after they're born until they get more hair.

I just heard that our car in finally in Wichita & we will get to pick it up tomorrow morning, yay! So Danz that means plans are still on for Sunday.

My first % Aloha chick from my first hatch!!!! Isn't it a cutey? At least now I know I managed to not kill one of them. What a relief!

KarenS, Congrats on the chick, that is a cutie! That gives me some hope that maybe I'll get a few. I still have one more week to go before the first batch of eggs are due to hatch.

KarenS, I sure hope so, I didn't realize it was going to be so nerve-wracking though, the waiting & worrying!

For anybody interested there is now another Great Pyrenees listed on the Farm Swap Site, a one year old male in Arkansas City. The person just lost their job & needs to find another home for him. I know there is a re-homing fee, but I don't know how much. This is about the perfect age to start them working if anyone needs a livestock guardian dog.

I took another 30 chicks out of the hatcher while ago and 12 more baby ducks. Most of the chicks were Serama, a couple silkies, and a few polish. The ducks were Ancona and Cayuga

Danz-I'm getting a mature pair of royal palms. The lady I gave the "therapy chicken" to also bought a bunch of chicks. She didn't have enough cash on her to get all the ones she wanted. We got to talking and I told her I would like to get a pair of turkeys just to have out here to have them gobble and bring the wild ones into the yard. She said she had a pair she guessed she could part with, so we made it an even trade.

By the way, I do hunt wild turkeys, but I don't hunt them in the yard. That is not why I want the royal palms. I just love watching them in the hay field out behind the house. That was one of the reasons we bought this place was for the wildlife plus the fact that we like to hunt. When I hunt I go out into the woods and fields and hunt. The only shooting I've done here from the house has been for predator elimination.

Glad your mom is doing a little better. Even a little improvement is a good thing.

CHECOUKAN- HEY! Hatch some of those Brown-Red OE's for me. We've got some trading to do, you know! Maybe you can get a good hatch on them by the time you come up in May.

OH REALLY!!!! You know how I love those brown reds!! Let me see, just what a brown red is going to cost you, HMMMM lets say 1 brown red chick for 5 wyandottes! That will work won't it!
