Congrats, Hawkeye, and welcome back from vacation!

Cherwill, wow that's a bunch of fish, I wish someone would catch me some like that. I grew up eating catfish mostly because it seemed like that was mostly what my parents caught, but we ate a lot of it. I still like catfish to this day. There is a catfish restaurant in Oklahoma that we go to if we're down that way, it's called McGeehees in Marietta, OK. They grow the catfish right there in their pond & fry it up & it's all you can eat catfish, hushpuppies, & fries. I always need to be wheeled out when we go there because it's so good you just keep eating. It's kind of off the beaten path, but so worth it after you get there.
Josie, I'll bet your pup will remember her scolding. Those GPs for the most part seem to be more sensitive than other breeds of dogs. I know that my Jasmine especially doesn't like to be scolded, she will slink off rather than keep getting yelled at. Lily is a little harder headed, but she's starting to get better. I think a lot of that behavior is just puppy, but it's just magnified since these dogs are so big. We have had a time getting ours to leave the little dogs alone when they come outside. These dogs don't understand how big they are & just one of their big paws are a third of my little Yorkie practically. They run for the hills when they come up to them because they want to play but they're way too rough for my tiny little dogs. In a way I'm kind of happy that they avoid the chickens because of the roosters. It may have saved some of their lives when the pups were smaller. But now they lay at night right outside of the run & my Ameraucana pen guarding them, so they know what they're supposed to watch.
IVY, do you have problems with your BC Marans hens going broody very often? I didn't realize they were so prone to that until I read that last night. I have one of mine that has been broody now for over a week & I can't break her of it & then for some reason the other one isn't laying either even though she's not broody. I have 3 hens not laying right now & it's aggravating because I need them to lay for my egg customers. One of my Australorps is sitting there right along with the Marans hen. They're taking up nests too so the other hens are confused about where to lay now. This is the first time I have had this many hens be broody at once.
Well my granddaughter just went home about an hour ago when my DH left for work. She stayed a lot longer than I figured she would, but it was partly because she latched onto one of our kittens & carried it around in a box for two days. She tried to talk her mom into letting her bring it home, but mom said no & the kitten isn't weaned yet, so she couldn't take it. She is worried the dogs are going to kill it & that is a possibility, she has named her Flower. I hate to have to be the one to tell her if something does happen to that kitten, she will be upset. The two cats they already have came from our cats & they have had them for several years. Boy I just don't have the energy to keep up with kids any more, it's a good thing I only have one that visits once in awhile, she wears me out. I do enjoy seeing her, but I'm tired when she goes home. She said she wants to come over every day & help me clean, that's a new one. She won't even clean her room at home & in fact is in trouble for that right now, but she wants to come help me. I'll bet her mom won't be so thrilled about that idea.
tnt, maybe we can have another get together this summer & you can make it to this one & meet some more people. It's been nice putting faces to names online & I would like to meet more people myself. I hope you find a house soon where you can have your chickens, I know you miss having them. I also hope you sell your chicken coop soon, it's a nice one especially for people who live in town & can only have a limited number of chickens. I would have gotten it myself if I could have had a way to get it here. I think my DH was kind of surprised I didn't ask him to help me get it home.
