Well I have been busy sorting birds and selling birds and moving birds. ARGH! But I feel much better now that it is getting done. I have 1 more roo to get rid of to be completely happy, but for now he can run with my Wellie/layer flock. My English type Orps are in their own pen, the bantams have their own pen, and my projects are in their own pen, and then the layers. They will be breeding whom I want them to breed.

And in 3 weeks, bring on the bator!

Has anyone else been doing Spring sorting and stuff?

Yea Renee I tossed around the idea of your Laks for about an hour but same situation, not really a breeding pen. I love to freerange my guys but I guess thats not possible when doing egg selling, hmmm, unless you advertise them as "also possibility of mutts".

Splash is looking good! He thinks he is king of his ladies, well he is. Did you see any of my pics, Renee? I FINALLY got some good ones of him. He is eye candy for sure!

Did your english orps ever hatch out or how did that go last summer?

I just tried to hatch some silkie eggs, they were due but no movement, candled and every one of them had broken free floating air cells.

Darned shipping. I was looking forward to having some nice new breeding stock as all my girls right now are sisters to my roo.

Next weekend I plan to separate out breeds. I sent out some emails to people with nice quality Barnevelder to see about getting eggs (really like the Johan lines), and put my extra splash Ameraucana roo on CL to make room for the black roo I hope to buy this summer.
My Welsh Harlequin eggs are doing great, and are due to hatch out on the 23rd. Fingers crossed!!

No. We tried to coordinate a pick-up, but it didn't work. We live about 2 hrs apart and have different schedules, so meeting in the middle is hard.
