Consolidated Kansas

So. while we are on the topic, or somewhat on the topic of worms, who out there worms their birds? I know, there is tons of information out there on BYC, I have waded through probably half a ton of it. I would rather hear from people in Kansas....Pros, cons, or does this come back to be a personal decision? I really want to be natural as possible, but also want healthy birds...

I have read many times ,on the quail board, about pumpkin just broken up and fed to the birds works well too. I cant confirm it,but it comes several from folks I value the opinion of... Supposedly the birds just go wild over it too. I have never tried it myself. Bill

Does it have to be raw pumpkin or will the cooked kind work?
I've got a ton of baggies of cooked pumpkin in the freezer from the zillions of leftover pumpkins from our pumpkin patch at work. And honestly my friends/family/neighbors getting very tired of pumpkin bread/pie/cookies...

My friends; you can break this down any way possible but truly I think it’s a lot more simple! Imagine this: eat a whole box of salt, consider the dog that eats a toad. What is the response of the body? How does your body respond? What happens to the dog? Either your imagination or your experience needs to pay off here! You are going to puke your guts out and so is the dog! Now put together two chemicals that do not naturally occur together creating a toxin that is fatal to all life it touches. (Chlorine) Biologically your body is going to dump any excess liquid on this toxin to neutralize it. If dilution is not the solution then dumping or modification of the solution is. So then we have either puking or mega pepsins! By the time it reaches the duodenum (just past the pyloric spinctor) Oh by the way you have many spinctors! the multi cellular organisms (parasites) are safe. The body has to recover from this trauma and that may mean a shut down of reproduction. Most likely you will see a reduction of eggs, and a longer time to get ready to lay eggs. Because you just poisoned your birds! The simple part I mentioned is; it’s not going to make it past the stomach!
You are going to greatly compromise your livestock on a hick cure! Yes I said it. no offence intended but a high school education should teach you the mechanisms of this thought process! The basics are this: puking and physiological distress are like branding slaves. It only marks them! If you truly care you will use something that targets the parasite!
I know I just ticked some of you off. I also have advise for Charlie Sheen too! I love you all because you love your chickens! I truly believe in truth! and God!
